Nickelodeon Punta Cana Review

I recently had the opportunity to spend 3 nights at the Nickelodeon Punta Cana all inclusive resort. I got to learn a lot about this fun, family friendly property and am excited to share my thoughts with you!

Arrival

Nickelodeon Punta Cana is about 40 minutes from the Punta Cana International Airport. It is an easy drive and there are many reliable transportation companies you can use. The resort partners with BRX and I had a comfortable and efficient ride.

Once at the resort, check in was easy and I was given my resort bracelet, which is the key to your room. I do like that you can take this on and off so you don’t have to shower or sleep with it on (don’t worry, it is water resistant so you can go in the water with it on!), but the downfall is that if you forget to put it on you can’t get back in your room. The front desk is very kind when this happens and will give you a second band (I speak from personal experience!).

They will then take you and your luggage directly to your room on a golf cart and make sure you are settled.

The Rooms

Every room at this resort is a suite, which is great! There are different tiers: Nest, Flat, and Pad Suites. I stayed in a Pad Suite, which means I had doors that could close off the area with the king size bed. The couch was a pull out, so this room can sleep 4 guests. If you prefer to have 2 double beds, there are some Nest and Pad suites that have this option. They also have pull out sofas and you can request a roll away bed if needed.

There are also swim out rooms. Don’t worry - there is a safety door in each of these rooms so you don’t have to worry about your little ones getting outside without you!

The Pineapple

Did you know you can stay in Spongebob’s house?

This special room books up really far in advance and is definitely a luxury item. It has its own private pool and more space to spread out! There are differently themed Super Pool Villas with the same layout right next door, too.

The Resort

This resort used to be two separate resorts, but they have now combined them into one larger resort. I think it is a beautiful property! It isn’t too big, but they do offer golf cart service. You can call to have them pick you up and take you anywhere on property you need, or there are some places where they regularly stop and will take you to the waterpark. I do recommend using the golf cart for this as it is a longer walk since it is technically across the street (the path goes under the road, so no safety concerns here!)

The beach was nice and there were plenty of chairs both there and at the pools.

The Food

I was able to experience 2 of the full service restaurants, the food display (this is what they call their buffet), room service, the Sweetery (coffee, ice cream, and snack shop), and 2 character dining experiences. Overall, I will say this is the best all inclusive food I have had over the course of my past few trips.

My favorite meal was the salmon at Spacewalker. It was very good! The chocolate dome dessert was also a fun experience.

My second favorite was Wok Wok where we had a sampling of appetizers and then I ordered the teriyaki chicken and the brownie for dessert.

We also got to have the giant machete burger and it was very good!

We were given the opportunity to experience both the Pajama Jam character breakfast and the Turtle Power dinner. These meals were buffet style. The character interactions were unique and fun! These meals are an additional charge, but if you or your kids love these characters, it might be worth the money to make sure you get to meet them!

The Fun

The Snick Lounge is meant to tug on those millennial heart strings. This fun area is set up with all kinds of games and turns into a club later in the evening. Kids are even allowed to stay until closing (1am)!

The Aqua Nick waterpark has begun its refresh and they now have added larger waterslides for the older guests at the resort. This is an excellent addition to the smaller play area in the original area. My favorite part was (as usual) the lazy river.

Did you know you can get Slimed at this resort? You have 2 opportunities: every day at 3pm there is a “mass sliming” at Aqua Nick where they fill the bucket with green water and everyone in the area gets slimed!

You can also pay for a personal sliming for you and your family! It is an extra charge and the mass sliming is not, but if this has always been on your list, it was an interesting experience! (FYI: it isn’t slime, it is just very dark green water).

Club Nick is for all kids ages 4-12 and offers a variety of activities throughout the day! It can be found near Aqua Nick.

Character meets: you can use your app or the guide on your room TV to find out what character meets are happening when and where.

There is a different themed show every night in the theater. They even have a more kid friendly show earlier in the evening!

The Spa

I took advantage of the fact it was pouring rain and I spent some time at the spa. It is not large, but the staff was kind. My favorite thing is that they offer services for kids! This is definitely not the norm at all inclusive resorts so if your kids want to be pampered a bit, too, this is the place to go.

Final Thoughts

I think this resort is great for families with younger kids who love Nickelodeon cartoon characters! The vibe was pretty chill and the staff was very kind. The food was good and there were enough activities to do to keep everyone entertained.
